Onboarding Course

Writeshop Project Proposal

11 Nov to 13 Nov 2024

The IMPRS Onboarding Course addresses two key areas for new doctoral researchers: crafting compelling project proposals and introducing the core elements of the Research School. Over three intensive days, participants will learn to clearly articulate their project ideas in relation to their core research “puzzle” and refine their research questions accordingly. The course fosters the development of each researcher’s unique voice, encouraging them to engage critically with their own academic assumptions and methodological approaches. Through hands-on writing workshops, mini-conferences for project presentations, and critical paper discussions, participants will enhance their presentation skills and receive constructive feedback in an interactive, collaborative setting. Additionally, the course covers essential workflows for the doctoral journey at the IMPRS, providing general information about the school and its curriculum, as well as practical guidance on organizing TAC meetings and applying for fieldwork funding.
